We wanted to know if #lakesturgeon would prioritize safety from predators or foraging opportunities~quite the dilemma for young fish

Baby lake sturgeon chose to keep eating when faced with a predator cue, but it did stress them out! 🧪🌎👩🏻‍🔬🐠

We caught 9 more #LakeSturgeon on Tuesday as part of our #sturgeon survey in the #StClairRiver! 4 of the fish were recaptures and 6 were juveniles. Big fish of the day was 63.7 inches and 79 lbs.
