Actor Barry Corbin was born in Lamesa in 1940. Probably best known for his roll as astronaut Maurice Minnifield in TV's Northern Exposure, I think my favorite Barry Corbin role was his turn as Roscoe Brown, sheriff July Johnson's bumbling deputy in Lonesome Dove. He was also great in Urban Cowboy.

Could San Diego have even one east-west protected bike lane in the urban core going uninterrupted from Mission Hills to LaMesa?
A lonely house near Lamesa in rural Dawson County, 1939. My goodness. I am a man who doesn't have any problem with "alone time," but this would probably provide A LOT of alone time. I can imagine that keeping dust out of the house was an ongoing battle.
