languagedrops seems like it has a super robust library of languages to pick from however its one of those “try it for free but we are really paid only by yearly subscription” which is unfortunate bc i wouldve used it otherwise. its more expensive than duolingo

I decided to get back to using the Drops App for learning Japanese. I reset my old progress in the app and I'm going to refresh my basic Japanese😸🇯🇵💪 Starting with hiragana🈂️🇯🇵 がんばって💪💙🌈✨️

Do we capitalise the phrase “te reo Māori” when we use it in a sentence? Not according to all the official sources on the first page of search results. But the AI summary begs to disagree! It capitalises it, and cites two sources…which don’t. Luckily we can turn the stupid AI summary off.

乗り物のたぐいは英語の音写が多いんですが、日本語の訳が微妙すぎるんじゃないだろうか。kaʻa は car で、車種は限定されないからバンと訳すのは間違いじゃないけどおかしい。

「げんつき」と訳されてる mopeka の絵が日本ではスクーターだし、
「スクーター」と訳されてる peka は日本では「キックボード」だし。

FaceBookアカウントでのログインは今もできないまま。1日なら休んでも救済措置があるけれど、もう2日以上になるので連続記録も途絶えてしまった。まあ、連続したからといって残るのは記録だけなんだけども。

今朝はブラウザ版もfacebookではログインできなくなってた。

iPadOS版アプリからfacebookアカウントでログインできないまま日付が変わった。パソコンのブラウザからだとログインできたので連続記録は守れたけど。

#LanguageDrops は、語学といっても文法を教えてるわけじゃなく、単語帳みたいなやつなんですが、それすら文法を知らない人が作ると各国語との紐付けがおかしいことになる。

1. nā ʻaʻahu apau - wardrobe（衣裳すべて）
2. ke keʻena waihona ʻaʻahu - wardrobe（衣裳を収納する部屋）

英語の訳語しか見てない人が日本語に紐付けると1なのに2の訳語に紐付けてしまう。そういうのがハワイ語のコースには沢山あるみたい。
