Due to Lantus insulin shortage, I'm trying new long lasting insulin called Tresiba. It came out 10 yrs after I got sick, so I've never tried it. Initially, looks like it might be superior to Lantus in a lot of ways. One more reminder to me that a "set it and forget it" med regimen can have drawbacks

It is generic Lantus insulin (a 24 hour insulin) . Works identical to it. One tube of Lantus, 104$

on the 7th my doc sent two competing insulin prescriptions to the pharmacy. the pharmacy, confused, refused to fill either. day 10 without Lantus.

I now live with night-time hypoglycaemia and having just taken my Lantus, I'm f×cking terrified about what might happen now.
It is not being dramatic to say that I may not be here tomorrow - I dropped to 0.3 a few days ago.
