Today's #tea is Fruit Bomb Lapsang from @white2tea.bsky.social

(I will be honest I can't tell you what the nuances are supposed to be for these little lapsang samples but I'm enjoying them)

We've gotten a couple new chickens to fill in the flock before winter temps hit — Oolong and Lapsang, a pair of Easter Eggers (truly the doodle mixes of chickens lol). They're very cute.

(lapsang souchong is a Chinese black tea whose leaves have been smoked over pine needle fires, giving it an incomparable campfire flavor perfect for the season)

I dug around some more in my tea cabinet and way in the top/back I found an ENTIRELY SEALED BAG OF LAPSANG SOUCHONG

You have clearly not tried Lapsang Souchong ice cream. I was very grateful that the staff *actively advised* me to try the free sample, first!

Incidentally, you probably don't want to get the Congou black tea unless you enjoy pu'er tea. It's got that same musty flavor, just lighter. Also, the Bohea black tea is a bit smoky - like wood smoke-smoky, not whisk(e)y-smoky - which I personally don't enjoy. The lapsang souchong is even smokier.

@stephenkb.bsky.social - This was months ago now, but thank you for recommending Cardews of Oxford in your FT column. I am really appreciating their lapsang teabags.

#Octember Neither Ollie nor Vince know much about tea (they're coffee fellas), so to both their great chagrin, they will need to consult Delfini.

Delfini prepares a smoke-dried black tea (probably Lapsang Souchong) for a smoky flavor. Accompanied with savory cheese/ham finger treats and scones.
Please try to remember, the 4th of #Octember!

TODAY'S QUESTION: How Do You Defeat a Tree?

The trees are cross though the roots may be hardy, rhyming at 3 AM is hard, what the fuck, let's have a tea party! 😅

Have fun! Don't think too hard!

Understandable. If you want to try to get into tea properly, once you're feeling better, get some lapsang tea. It's like a campfire in a cup, smoky and a little bit piney. Legitimately my fav tea. Again, hope you feel better.

I already love the pine sap lapsang. Amazing stuff

I drink strong Earl Grey, lemongrass & ginger or peppermint. My husband sometimes takes the evil path of lapsang souchong!

Good morning Charlie! I prefer unsmoked lapsang. I do have some smoked lapsang but rarely drink it. The smoke overpowers the taste.

Morning tea: an unsmoked Lapsang from the famous Tong Mu Village in Fujian. Chocolate brownies with burnt edges, raspberry jam, charred bourbon casks, gingerbread. Warming with a light energy. Delicious ! 😋

Unsmoked lapsang is either chocolatey, fruity or sometimes both like today’s tea.

this screen in #zzzero is so sad because you can tell at launch they had this whole concept that, in addition to the gacha characters, there'd be this whole category of light social link-like bond stories with NPC's at various locations in game and they never added to it lol

Mine was from Harney & Sons, they have some of the best teas I know: Vanilla Comoro (decaf black tea), Black Cask (Lapsang Souchong with bourbon flavor), Horchata (Milky Oolong with rice and cinnamon), Bangkok (green tea with coconut, ginger and vanilla) and many more!
