Moss and all Leaflings are not merely “infected” by Pikmin, they ARE Pikmin. The Leafling-ification process actually changes the person’s DNA to include Pikmin DNA. The same applies to Moss, but she’s been part Pikmin since birth, implying one of her ancestors underwent this process in the past.
