A bowl of wild strawberries, a sprig still in flower, two berries rolled loose on a chipped stone ledge. Adriaen Coorte painted it in 1696 and signed it into the stone, giving a handful of humble fruit the light and patience others saved for banquets. #Coorte #StillLife

Though boring, nothing to truly write home about and at times forgettable, "One Mile: Chapter One" is at least a better "Cliffhanger"-type film than "The Ledge."

My ★★★1⁄2 review of "One Mile: Chapter One" (2026) on Letterboxd: boxd.it/gAX82J
A ★★★½ review of One Mile: Chapter One (2026)
Warning, spoilers are ahead. OK, so this is technically my second time watching this, but my first time watching it solo. Not necessarily a classic, but while boring and at times forgettable, the acti...

Two figures rest where the valley falls away,
sun on their shoulders, the dog between.
Wind moves the grass; the town lies small and far,
and for a moment nothing asks to be seen. #MountainView #AlpineLandscape #GermanShepherd #OpenAir #ValleyOverlook

In the image with Peter it looks like the ledge under the "bookshelves" might be intended as a sort of seating, but the lack of knees would render it REALLY awkward. And now I'm wondering how many design choices in this line (and multiple Kenner lines, really) were informed by the lack of knees. 🤔

There’s even more bird shit on my windows now. There’s a ledge between the windows on my floor and the floor above and I’ve seen pigeons on it, so I’m pretty sure the person who lives above me is feeding them because it’s only my windows that have shit on them.

Last light on Zion's red rocks. She climbed high, settled into stillness, and the canyon went gold around her. Some moments ask you to slow down and let the land talk.

Did you know?

In the Victorian era, a French woman established a 100,000-franc prize ($19,300) for anyone who could communicate with another celestial body and receive a reply.

However, Mars was excluded because apparently it was not considered difficult enough.

Beautiful, both visuals and sound are top notch. Some really fun (but really hard!) platforming and satisfying exploration. When you get a new ability it's not just "oh, time to go back to That One Ledge", you have to think a bit.

I don’t know how to explain how large and horrible this bug was that out of fucking nowhere was crawling on the top ledge of my dishwasher below the lip of the counter and has now seemingly crawled into the opening of the door latch mechanism but I’m probably gonna have to burn everything down ritmp

Every line is plotted and designed to leave you standing on your bedroom window’s ledge / And everyone else that it gets to is nothing more than collateral damage

I told him why I was there, he was never ever mislead
I am the judgement and jury watching him walking the ledge
We spoke for a moment or two, he didn't have enough breath
But in the end, we both agreed that he was better off dead

Not bad. Zero Mission is a bit more forgiving than 1980s Metroid, because you can ledge grab. I can't emphasize how much stress the original game caused me at age 8.

They’ll stay on the little ledge on the balcony. However long I’m gone on daily things is the non smoking time. There’s also no smoking inside. As weather changes it’ll get easier as smoking will also mean the discomfort of cold weather. At least I hope it’s a small deterrent.

This monster caught a bird this week. Through the window. My indoor cat punched a hole through the window screen to grab a bird that was sitting on the window ledge. I did not find this delightful but she certainly did
