#leniency
This is what happens when you raise men in a society where women are treated as equals and with respect. The heroes are from Sweden.
Brock Turner's dad, wrote to the judge asking for leniency & stated that prison was "a steep price to pay for 20 minutes of action out of his 20 plus years of life"

No more leniency for sex offenders. Vote BLUE.
"there are at least three other instances over the past decade in which defendants accused of sexual assault or trafficking were offered plea deals by Paxton’s office that allowed them to avoid both jail time & placement on the TX sex offender registry"
Ken Paxton's office struck plea deals in three other sex abuse cases beyond one facing scrutiny
The revelation comes as the Texas Attorney General struggles to gain ground with voters in his U.S. Senate race.

I think the verdict was so stern the only options city have is to cast doubt, hope for leniency from the appeal board. Then if all else fails, tie the process up in legal red tap and burn the whole thing down.

I think they’ll do the latter and it’ll have seismic consequences

Mike and Dylan dig into California's eviction and squatter laws, discussing a hypothetical scenario with an unwanted houseguest. The conversation touches on the complexities and perceived leniency of these laws. #redditstories #aita #reddit #relationships

it shall not suffice.

the punishment must be absolute permitted by law, with no leniency, no early release and no comfort.

But there really is no use in arguing it when you realize that people don't want justice. They want vengeance. Blood lust. People HATE when families plead for science backed interventions. For leniency. For second chances. Or when they go against the death penalty.

Same schools, same circles, same excuses and leniency.

Will the five guys in the UK siphoning gas, get the same leniency? Of course, Evil Don will continue to "follow them", in his spare time, since he has nothing else to do. #discover

Heinous crime she’s shown remorse for. Got death penalty bc 18 at the time - but brain-addled fr SA since *toddlerhood*? We now know trauma changes the brain. Male co-perp meanwhile got life, leniency just bc he happened to be 17. Death penalty immoral hugely flawed ought to be outlawed.
Horror upon horror
Journalists witnessed yesterday's botched execution in Tennessee and did their job by telling the public about it.

But Tennessee is fighting to stop the press from witnessing every stage of an execution, in a lawsuit brought by the AP. Nothing to hide, right?

Prevalence of US owners in PL might be a complicating factor here - not sure they fully grasp the value of a league being competitive. If they grant Man City leniency dozens of clubs risk a rupture with their own supporters. Either they kill the poison quickly or they'll kill the golden goose slowly

Harvey Weinstein Gets 15 Years — and the Internet’s Immediate Reaction Was That It Wasn’t Enough

The former Hollywood mogul has received another major prison sentence, but the online reaction shows how little appetite remains for leniency.

The problem is that the money guys fail to understand is that, for non-MCFC fans, it's not about the money (except ticket prices and multiple TV subs of course), and that they'll view any kind of leniency as a betrayal. That would be a big, big mistake, which would have a financial impact too.

Johnny DiMera cracks under the guilt and hopes for leniency. EJ insists he did not need to create any evidence against Sarah. Why is the son paying for the father's mess?

City have always felt like an alien presence, and people will be happy to see the whole thing tied round their neck. I definitely see a lot of "innit funny how no one misses City at all?" if an appropriate punishment is imposed.

The risk to the league, imo, is the optics of leniency.

I agree the Chelsea leniency is wild, and set a precedent. If City’s owners sold the club tomorrow and the new owners immediately fessed up to everything the previous regime had done, would they get away with a small fine?
October 1, 2026 at 10:30 AM
I probably disagree there. For all the arguments I'm making against leniency for Chelsea, I do think City's alleged deception and subsequent obstruction of the process will count for a lot. The numbers involved are a lot bigger too.

This #semibased take from #StoneToss reveals the limited range of #AcceptableTargets. Jokes at the expense of Whites are kosher, but the Jews? While the attention to #theJQ is appreciated it falls short in overlooking the leniency to Black celebrities.

but if everyone gets off from what they deserve, then how is justice going to be executed? isn't unfair leniency also an injustice? don't we howl when the wicked get off too lightly?

Twitter moralists are:

Endless empathy compassion leniency far reaching mental gymnastics for absolutely batshit crazy evil villains and "actually are good people "

Harsh rigid rules for heroes and always expect perfect virtue and if a single slip up happens "most evil person in all creation"
twitter morality culture ruins media literacy

because what do you mean ppl will ignore Vaggi’s visible remorse & guilt over killing sinners to smear her as a genocider while uplifting Alastor as some antiracist vigilante when he spells out that he kills for fun & wants to be the one on top

I mean, obviously anyone putting that shit on my timeline gets an instant and immediate block. No leniency, no excuses.
based on a quick search, genuinely depressing number of artists on Bsky doing that genderbend Malfoy HP fanart shit, and they all earned a block from me.

Harry Potter shit really is the Chik-Fil-A of media. People can't give it up despite all the bad it does. Ugh.

The problem is that, beside the temporary humiliation, Republicans always get away with stupidity. Mostly because the people who elected them are much dumber.
The Dems don't get that much leniency. Mostly because their own constituents would not tolerate that much stupidity.
September 30, 2026 at 11:51 PM
Only for Republicans. Biden stumbling or looking tired was front page news in the US. Trump falling asleep during every other meeting is unremarkable. The media allows Trump to do anything and write it down as some logical action.
When Democrats are back in power they will get no such leniency.

Made a comparison yesterday (on another platform) to the Lance Armstrong scandal.

Very similar pattern (if wholly different execution): systemic institutional misconduct, aggressive concealment, and (now) total lack of remorse for wrongdoing.

Hard to see why leniency should be offered at all.

If they believe, as they have insisted numerous times, that this case hinges on a misrepresentation of how the sponsorship deals have worked, then why should they show remorse? They aren’t asking for forgiveness or leniency. They are saying they haven’t done anything wrong.

breaches. FRANCE 24's Mark Owen speaks with James Reade, Professor of Economics at the University of Reading. He says that it's unlikely that the club will see any leniency from football authorities: "it's hard to see it getting anything other than the book thrown at them".
