Glowing gold while in bloom! Leptomeria scrobiculata, a hemiparasitic shrub in the Santalaceae family, its tiny flowers and borne on short axillary inflorescences. It’s commonly found in winter wet areas, from Bunbury to Albany.

Parasitic plants time 💁‍♂️ with #Leptomeria cunninghamii! This root parasite is commonly found in the jarrah forest loving the understory life! It produces a mass of these tiny coppery flowers, and is also related to #Santalum! #Santalaceae

Lots of ‘acid drops’ or sour currant bush out atm - huge crops this year in the local bush. Leptomeria acida is a leafless root parasite on eucalypts.

Leptomeria acida Native Currant, Sour Currant Bush Erect shrub, 1–3 m high; branches semi-terete.
Flowers red to brown, yellowish brown, or greenish, petals each 0.6–0.7 mm long
Drupe ovoid, 7 mm long, greenish sometimes tinged with purple, succulent, acidic, edible.
Flowering now.
