#CMSPaper 1392 looks for signatures of heavy undiscovered particles (leptoquarks) in the kinematic behaviour of events with two leptons (electrons or muons). It did not see anything inconsistent with the standard model but did use #machinelearning to be extra sensitive arxiv.org/abs/2503.20023

#CMSPaper 1273 reports a null result on the search for heavy resonances decaying to a muon and a bottom quark, perhaps created by #leptoquarks. This is the world's most sensitive analysis for muon-bottom resonances buff.ly/3PuRhVZ

#CMSPaper 1235: This paper checks for the potential existence of #leptoquarks that interact with leptons and quarks. It examines interactions between top quarks and tau leptons. There is a slight excess at 2.8 standard deviations that prompts further study in Run 3 😇🫣🤓 arxiv.org/abs/2308.07826

#CMSPaper 1234: #Leptoquarks are hypothetical particles that interact with leptons and quarks. This result searches for them in (very) rare collisions between a lepton and a quark. The highly innovative method to isolate lepton collisions shows potential for the future!

Leptoquarks and the Emergence of the Standard Model Gauge Group in a Self-Consistent Preon Model
We show that in a self-consistent preon model, where Standard Model quarks and leptons are three-body composites confined at a metacolor scale Lambda_cr ~ 10^14 GeV, both leptoquarks and the Standard ...

What if we could turn the LHC into a lepton–proton collider? ✨

Thanks to rare quantum fluctuations, protons can briefly contain lepton–antilepton pairs. This allows ATLAS physicists to study lepton–proton collisions, opening a new door in the search for leptoquarks! ⤵️ atlas.cern/Updates/Brie...
Turning the LHC into a Lepton-Proton Collider in the search for leptoquarks
All matter in the universe is made up of just two fundamental building blocks: quarks and leptons. Intriguingly, both have three distinct families or “generations”. For example, the electron and its a...
