Check out this new lineup of tripods from Libec, which offers filmmakers and videographers more options and greater stability for their shooting needs.

In the world of filmmaking and videography, it never hurts to have multiple options to explore for the various cameras, lenses, and gear needed for your projects. The more competition, the better. It drives prices down and innovation up. And while the tripod industry isn’t completely dominated by just one brand, it isn’t quite as robust or competitive as, say, the camera industry, which sees brands putting millions of dollars into R&D each year. To help bring balance to the tripod market, Libec has introduced a new series of LX tripod systems, which will include four new models. Let’s take a quick look at Libec's new LX systems, which will include LX-5R, LX-5RM, LX-7R, and LX-7RM models. --- Libec LX Tripod System Series Featuring a range of products that are all quite similar, but with little tweaks for the various needs of different film and video professionals, the Libec LX tripod system series should ideally have something for everyone. The Japanese company has produced great results in the past and has a penchant for finding a nice balance between controllable fluid heads and sturdy leg design. The LX-7R might end up being the flagship offering for this new series with the greatest stability and three sets of 1/4-inch and 3/8-inch accessory ports on the head base. The LX-5R and LX-5RM models will be a bit lighter and more affordable for those looking for slightly more run-and-gun options. Overall, the full range is quite diverse but solid throughout and should present greater options for filmmakers and video pros in the market for stability. Price and Availability Just announced by Libec, pricing has not yet been shared for any of the models just yet. We do know that the company plans to have units ready to ship here in December, so we’ll let you know when more info is ready to share. For now, though, you can check out all of the technical specs on Libec’s website here.

Tristan E. A look at the new Libec TK-210C, a “2-stage” baby tripod that promises to have one of the broadest ranges possible for steady, yet flexible, stability.

A fun part of being a cinematographer, or just being a filmmaker or any sort of content creator these days, is to find the most interesting shot possible. This is where the creative juices really start to flow, and when you’re able to dream up a new angle that you haven’t seen before, it can provide a real rush. Unfortunately, our ideas and inspirations are often limited by the tools at our disposal. The new TK-210C baby tripod from Libec promises to give you as broad a range as possible to shoot your shots. Featuring an innovative 2-stage design with two extendable leg sections, the TK-210C does look to be quite versatile. Here’s what you need to know. --- The Libec TK-210C Baby Tripod While not a complete reinvention of the tripod system that has been a hallmark of film and photography since the very beginning, this new baby tripod from Libec features a “2-stage” system that differs from most baby tripods that only feature a single-stage leg. TK-210C is equipped with 2-stage legs for greater convenience and flexibility, which further allows for an enhanced design that features a broader range to shoot different variable angles. Libec reports that users will be able to go as low as 21cm / 8.2" height and as high as 70cm / 27.5". Compact, Ultra-Light, and Dolly Compatible The Libec TK-210C promises to be ultra-light as well, thanks to its carbon fiber legs. This heavy-duty "2-stage" baby tripod weighs only 2.7kg / 5.9lb, including the floor spreader. It can also fold down to a height of just 42.5cm / 16.7", making it exceptionally compact and easy to transport. Libec also reports that the TK-210C supports not only Libec heads but is also compatible with other industry standard 100mm and 75mm ball heads made by other manufacturers, allowing you to use a tripod head you may already own. Plus, when paired with the DL-10RB Compact dolly, the TK-210C will be able to enable tracking shots, too. Price and Availability The Libec TK-210C baby tripod is out and available now for a suggested retail price of $850, which you can find on Libec’s website here.
