And this is why I struggled to get a B in French 😆 I grabbed the 'masculine as neutral' rule for nouns and used it as a somewhat leaky lifejacket for the whole language.
Somehow, I can't see French grammar getting a bit of flexibility in how it identifies, in line with the rest of society :-)

1st things I learned about beachcombing on the Oregon Coast with my grandfather was never turn your back on the waves. As an adult, I also learned that even if your facing the ocean, you need to take your eyes off the treasures at your feet & actually look at the waves OFTEN.
