Darkness and blindness is a huge theme in deltarune people gloss over. You have to blind yourself to see the dark worlds, most Lightners have DARKNESS over their eyes when they are in despair/distress, the Titans having an eye motif despite being in the dark... probably more

Yeah, the dark worlds and their residents are also (I think) more "real" than Ralsei frames them in chapter 3 anyway. The darkners have their own thoughts, desires, histories, and relationships independent of the lightners. Framing their worlds as mere escapism just seems intuitively wrong to me.

I have heard theories of Ralseis glasses are shadow crystals but I dont think they have any special properties as Susie put them on in ch2 and didnt comment on anything strange about them. Plus a Shadow crystal comes from a lightners broken dream meaning it cant have come from Ralsei

One thing about deltarune is that Ralsei seems to be the only darkner who (at least initially) buys into the whole "Darkners only exist to serve lightners" thing.
Like, every other darkner starts by default with their own desires, their own ambitions, their own sense of self. It's interesting.
