The transition to the new software will begin at 5pm on Sunday, April 12 and continue through Thursday, April 16, with both LINKcat and the LINKcat mobile app unavailable during that time. All Madison Public Library locations will remain open and visitors can check out items in person.

Here in southern Wisconsin you use Linkcat to access your Library account. When you search a title it looks at all the connected libraries. When you put in a hold for a book, they pull it from the nearest library that has a copy.

I was a library page for 9 years and I I was so thrilled to learn this about library systems’ purchasing power. I buy a lot of books but I can’t buy everything I read and this made me feel even better about using my library’s LinkCat system to find anything my little greedy heart desired. ♥️📚♥️

The Madison Public Library will be updating its online interface. The system will be down from April 13-16 but user changes are expected to be minimal.

Now I’m really looking forward to it! I don’t think it will take long to get it from our fabulous South Central LinkCat system but I’ll check around and see if it is on any of the streaming sites we subscribe to.
