I don't put in A lines to improve mortality. That's what BP, oxygen, Abx, time (and sometimes surgeons) are for. I do it to reduce discomfort. Which I am glad to say this trial supports. #LIVES2025
In the EVERDAC trial involving patients with shock, results for death at day 28 indicated that management without early arterial catheter insertion was noninferior to early catheter insertion. Full trial results: nej.md/3LmOO0D

Ultimately, We don’t look at patients perceptions of recovery well enough - and often those with severe disability perceive their recovery more positively than we expect… the disability paradox (this is really important) #Lives2025 #criticalcare
