Made these aurora borealis for my sister. I made a similar piece that she wanted to buy but it sold fast… #fiberart #fiber #fiberartist #art #fiberartwork #livingfelt #fibercreative #woolart

The wet felt landscape class was fun! I went in after it was dry and added some embroidery and needle felted the sun to make it stand out more. The other is from a fun tutorial by LivingFelt I did on YouTube: youtu.be/wLnnM_G63nU?...
That account has lots of great tutorials!

Don't give up, keep poking, if you live here in USA Livingfelt has great wool batts that are great for felting animals. Felt on!

It's a super slow process with risk of RSI, but it's fun once you get the basics! I suggest Sarafina Fiber or LivingFelt for supplies to start

My wife is a big fan of LivingFelt for both supplies and tutorial videos, but they trend towards the more tradtitional imagery. Reddit and pinterest are good sources of inspriation for other ideas. (I got a felted Grogu for my birthday)

Also, not all wool felts equally, so try different types.

I made this with some roving I got at the fiber fair because it was on clearance. I do not know anything about it except that it was $7.50, thank god is mostly felted together. I made a resist from recycled packing foam sheets and followed this video.

I know that LivingFelt has some tutorials out there. Not sure if they have one specific for shading. That's usually trial and error, with thin wisps and fine needles and layering them until you get the effect you want.

Hi, and good luck with your new art journey. I get my supplies from LivingFelt Bear Creek BigSky FeltRiteFibers TheFeltedEwe. Many offer long and short staple wools, needles, etc. I use Maori and MC1 wools as I like short fibers for my dry needle felting but there’s so many styles.

Thank you for your suggestion, Jenny. I've tried using thin wisps but they tend to either clump together or disappear. I'm thinking my needle needs to be thinner? The thinnest I have is 40 gauge. I'll definitely check out LivingFelt.
