I really wanna mess around and make some weird, alien themed techno again.

Krita or OpenToonz for animation (2D animation, if you want 3D go blender)
DaVinci Resolve for editing
LMMS or FL Studio if you want to make the music in it.
All of these are free to use (at least to start.) Find a tutorial on YouTube or something and go crazy

using suno then pasting it on spotify doesn't make you a musician, it makes you a publisher because all you did was publish something you didn't make yourself

I got back into music production with LMMS but I'm not expecting anything all that impressive because the learning curve is a bit steeper than FL Studio.

I can't even afford a DAW like FL Studio. I don't even want to bother to learn music stuff, as that would make any long animations I have planned take an astronomical amount of time to make.
LMMS sucks.

got a save error in LMMS when i plugged my computer up to charge . my other project made it out unscathed but hysteso was lost , you can see this super blank project file . i'm going to do a system restore to my PC to try and get what i wrote back ....

LMMS is heavily MIDI reliant. As for patterns oh boy. I like to use patterns known to create hit songs. I use symmetrical rhythms, low sing, four on the floor, heavy back beat, solo rhythm, four chords, etc. Hit song composer patterns.
