This is it I think, since Begins the desire to make live-action Batman look "real" has been a huge mistake that deadens a lot of what's otherwise good about them. I like a lot of the story beats in TDK--I think the barge climax is incredible--but the movie has a dreariness that diminishes it.

"AI is a potential threat" is an argument lots of Yudkowsky's critics agree with, sometimes very strongly. Yudkowsky's arguments are a lot more specific than that however and plenty of those critics have in fact raised strong serious arguments against them

Doomers are the those of a cloth so to speak. The religious. Yes some are zealots but many as history of religion go crave the power and money. Accelorationists is his combo of the king/sword and the merchant class. If he feels that’s one group it looks a lot like a fascism.

With a lot of AI things you just need to extrapolate the tiniest bit to see that things will obviously be very different

it's like a hoodie sweatshirt type of costume. he has several. he even goes to work in costume. :) he gets a lot of compliments!

Having a tool that fulfills a purpose helps me a lot. I also have a water reminder timer set to go off once an hour throughout the day to remind me to drink!

A short difficulty-curve note would help a lot. Something like “resource pressure rises in the final third” or “later bosses add tighter timing, not extra health.” Even better if the menu lets you revisit that choice when the curve changes.

I wish they'd do this in Sweden. I ticked off a lot of ADHD symptoms and a lot of autism symptoms, but not enough of either to fulfil that particular diagnosis. I think if they were combined Id be considered severe enough for a diagnosis.

Some of it is the incentives for drivers (encouraged or mandated by their employers) to go as fast as possible. Drivers will minimize time parking even if available e.g. not go around a corner, not pull into an available parking lot, not parallel park, etc.

A lot of folks think true crime is a modern phenomenon when it's not particularly so. Books and tv shows about real world crime have existed for years. I think it CAN be done ethically, but it's so damn hard to do so. (I read a lot of historical true crime about things from the 1800s.)

My father did a lot of mRNA research in his lab in the 80s and he always said DNA was easy to work with, you could throw it against the wall and it would maintain its integrity. mRNA on the other hand would degrade completely if you just looked at it funny.
