😱 @ number count of planning permissions. Given how #Localgov planning authorities use v similar software, there's huge scope to crunch the data and documents (probably needing AI because the volume of data is *massive*) to pull out trends and themes from things like transport reports & social homes
Fabulous report here by researchers at Warwick University - who've done a massive job of data cleaning to work out the true number of new homes given planning permission in the last 20 years - and headline is that Government figures overcount by a staggering 43%. thinkhouse.org.uk/site/assets/...

This is something I hope universities can support their #Localgov councils by encouraging students to undertake research using AI to analyse different document classes - eg transport reports, EIRs, etc on all planning applications uploaded to their systems.
