Ray Booth, aged 102, and his wife Win, 101, celebrated their 80th wedding anniversary at Bupa Norewood Lodge Care Home in Portishead. The facility named a refurbished communal area 'Winray Lounge' in their honour, reflecting their lifelong devotion. The couple, who met during World War II while Ray was stationed in Canada, exchanged letters with Win's brother before marrying in 1946. Their story of love and resilience includes raising a daughter and granddaughter, as well as decades of involvement in local performing arts groups. The celebration featured a cream tea prepared by staff, a replica wedding cake, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new lounge. Care home manager Pamela Arnsmeyer praised their 'inspiring' relationship, highlighting how their partnership has shaped their community over eight decades.
