I've got a garden full of tits today. Great, blue, coal, and longtailed have been singing in the trees around the garden. Having a bird bath is what is attracting them I think, I'm filling it up every other day at the moment to keep them happy 😊

I was corrected by someone I believe this to be the longtailed bush tit not the silver throated bush tit

Today's #BirdoftheDay : Longtailed Tit.
From my time in Warsaw, Poland when I was on fellowship at the University of Warsaw.
Can't wait to get back soon!

Sadly we don't have humming birds in the UK, I wish we did!!!!

Suggestions seem to be a tit nest, maybe longtailed tit , or bluetit which we get lots of. Although the bluetits normally nest in our boxes.

With that being said, it could be a longtailed parasitoid wasp (Rhyssa???)

first shb fish was 7/13; just 17 to go!

(still on the list: egg, salad, aqua, listra, deephaunt the vacationer, maru crab, that starfish, python discus the vacationer, a few others)

....it occurs to me that sam's last fish ought to be the literal red herring, huh.

I love the way the leaves on the natives pick up the sunlight for a few minutes each day 💛

Can’t see it in this pic, but there’s a really tall remains of a poplar trunk mid-ish right-ish that has longtailed bats nestled in it 🦇💛🦇

Me writing:
Start sentence. Stop. Check name of Roman road.
Start next sentence. Stop. Check climate in northern Italy in 500 CE.
Start new paragraph. Stop. Search Youtube for bird alarm calls.
My char may be a shapeshifting alien, but if he turns into a bird it has the right accent, darn it.

I agree, the blurry feathers are sort of a dead giveaway.

Of course they could beat you, a ferret, a mere dirt weasel with no effort

But not me. A real and proper mustelid, the noble longtailed stoat.

Why don't you stand aside making one of those funny shocked open mouthed faces your kind always do

And let a real weasel handle this pesky cat..

I don’t know who that is on the left side behind Trump, but, he’s as nervous as a longtailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs.

At last some warmth in the sun (although freezing at night and cold and windy first thing,) and busy on the Ben with weekend walkers. A greenfinch! Thank goodness and still the wee shaver is around as well.
