#looneytunestubi
Thread! To celebrate the Looney Tunes being free (with ads) on Tubi, I will say one great thing about each cartoon. #looneytunestubi is my tag.

Smile, Darn Ya, Smile: It always confuses Roger Rabbit fans who aren't aware the song was from this 1931 cartoon. Also, first things-come-to-life! #looneytunestubi

Carrotblanca: A straight-up parody of the classic movie, probably the funniest thing in it is that Looney Tunes are so barren of female characters that it has to have Bugs romance Penelope Pussycat. Tweety, your Peter Lorre isn't as funny as you think it is. #looneytunestubi

Porky's Snooze Reel: I admit, the giant mousetrap stopping the tank made me laugh. Also, the jellyfish turning into "six delicious flavors". #looneytunestubi

And I'm done! Hooray! Did you enjoy this? I debated starting a #looneytunesnotontubi thread, but that would require me finding good things to say about Goin' to Heaven on a Mule and Tokio Jokio, and I'm gonna hard pass on that. #looneytunestubi

Thumb Fun: Daffy as an obnoxious hitchhiker spends most of the cartoon being as annoying as he possibly can. This is how McKimson handled Daffy through most of the 50s, and it works well. Love Porky's Fibber McGee trunk. #looneytunestubi

Tired and Feathered: The Coyote and Roadrunner continue their struggle against canned music. This one features the Coyote disguising a phone booth with a dynamite handset as a Bird Sanctuary. This is so overelaborate it almost works. #looneytunestubi

Wild and Woolly Hare: Yosemite Sam is finally an outlaw cowboy again, as Friz remakes Bugs Bunny Rides Again. For those who love memes, we get "hold my beer" here. "I get more free beers this way!" #looneytunestubi

Porky's Poppa: I was going to say the opening Old MacDonald song, which is terrific and cute. But the highlight has to be that they got away with the chocolate milk gag and the Hays office didn't notice. #looneytunestubi

Canned Feud: Sometimes Friz Freleng decides to make a Tom and Jerry cartoon. The sympathy is entirely with Sylvester here, though, tormented by a sadistic mouse. Sylvester's histrionics as the family drive away and leave him are my favorite part. #looneytunestubi

Porky the Rain-Maker: The fake happy ending, then all the animals go back into weather chaos. Also, the goose getting caught outside the iris out. #looneytunestubi
August 17, 2025 at 9:03 PM
Lady, Play Your Mandolin!: The first Merrie Melodie! The drunk horse was so good they redid this entire scene for Goopy Geer. His hallucinations steal the show. #looneytunestubi

Chili Corn Corny: Speedy finds his old enemy-turned-friend Crow, who wants corn but Daffy owns the farm. They team up, though Daffy is not quite as dumb as other cartoons. Also, the Crow is not quite as friendly as Speedy thought. The ending makes this interesting. #looneytunestubi

A Hound for Trouble: The final Charlie Dog cartoon, and the one I saw most on TV back in the day. He's in Italy. The highlight is absolutely the "Atsa Matta" song Charlie sings. Hope you love Italian stereotypes, this has all of them. #looneytunestubi

Easter Yeggs: One of my Top 5 Bugs Bunny cartoons, I adore this. As Jaime Weinman noted, early McKimson Bugs tends to be a "thug", and that tracks here. Mel Blanc's "Happy Postman" character is used for the Easter Rabbit, who steals the cartoon. "Keep smiling!" #looneytunestubi

Two Scent's Worth: Pepe again, in the Alps this time, so lots of skiing jokes. Here Penelope (or rather Fifi) is painted by a bank robber, who succeeds but turns himself in when Pepe walks by. In the end, Pepe wins mostly as Penelope is terrified of falling from a cliff. #looneytunestubi
January 27, 2026 at 11:14 AM
Past Perfumance: One of the best Pepe Le Pew cartoons, as he runs riot on a movie set that has painted Penelope's fur so she can be a "skunk sans pew". The director of the animal picture's yes men are fantastic, basically being a cloud of toadies. #looneytunestubi
January 27, 2026 at 11:12 AM
False Hare: The last classic Bugs Bunny cartoon, although again, using the word "classic" hurts my head. Bugs admits he only goes along with this as "it's gotten dull around here". The cameo by Foghorn Leghorn is probably the highlight. #looneytunestubi
March 29, 2026 at 12:25 PM
Rabbit's Kin: A well-remembered classic, though I think that's because modern audiences have no idea who Frank Fontaine is. Pete Puma deserved more than one cartoon. "How many lumps do you want?" "Oh, three or four." #looneytunestubi
January 2, 2026 at 12:07 PM
The Organ Grinder: The monkey's Harpo Marx and Laurel and Hardy impressions. #looneytunestubi
August 16, 2025 at 3:48 PM
Catty Cornered: Tweety is kidnapped by Rocky, the gangster from Golden Yeggs. Meanwhile, Sylvester just wants food. Rocky's presence makes this more interesting than most Tweety cartoons, with a great ending where Sylvester accidentally becomes a hero. #looneytunestubi
January 11, 2026 at 10:59 AM
Go Fly a Kit: Chuck Jones makes a Marc Antony and Pussyfoot cartoon, only they hate each other and also Pussyfoot can fly. This is goofy fun. The way the car gets rid of teh dog at the end is darkly amusing. #looneytunestubi
February 12, 2026 at 10:47 AM
Wild Wild World: This cartoon may break the thread. One of the worst classic Looney Tunes ever, a parody of a Dave Garroway series, only with cavemen. The cavemen attacking the giant dinosaurs can be somewhat cute. That's about all I got. #looneytunestubi
March 10, 2026 at 12:33 PM
What's Cookin, Doc?: This is a well-designed "cheater" cartoon, with all the live-action and the extended scene from Hiawatha's Rabbit Hunt (which does not stream). The highlight is probably the "stag reel", and Bugs' reaction to same. #looneytunestubi
October 24, 2025 at 9:43 AM
8 Ball Bunny: A very cranky Bugs takes the Penguin from Frigid Hare to the South Pole, only to regret it. Everyone remembers the Humphrey Bogart gag, and with good reason. Bugs never did get a "Madrey Grass" cartoon, did he? #looneytunestubi
