like it cannot be impressed strongly enough that starfield has shouts in it and the lorebooks are two sentences long every time. they launched a human-only scifi setting and the primary theological conflict is "should we be religious or atheist" because they didn't actually come up with a religion

Because I'm a spreadsheet sicko, I made a little cheat sheet for the various noun/adjective forms FFXIV uses for people and places. I'm sure I've missed some, but these were the ones I was able to quickly find in the lorebooks and the wiki!

finding out that starfield put moby dick into the game but it's just the opening paragraph, because all the lorebooks are basically just one paragraph, is driving me insane because like... you can put that one in the game! it could really be there! it's public domain! it'd be such a freebie!

Marathon lorebooks are also of a similar quality but we don't have an Unveiling or Books of Sorrow in Marathon yet

something the MonHun lorebooks do that I adore is both how theyre written like actual in-universe books written by a scribe, and how it has a "unconfirmed rumours" or whatever section, where they reused concept art and scrapped ideas and made them mysterious cryptids or rumours

i'm doing the drg quests again which means i'm interacting with handeloup and i always feel some kind of way about this guy because every interaction you have with him and the extenal lorebooks says he's a decent normal guy but a single optional levequest completely assassinates his entire character
