If that’s the case I don’t understand why England is so desperate to hang on to Scotland. After all, England won’t even subsidise spare bedrooms let alone an entire country.

OpenAI is a household name and its only semi-viable product is a lossmaker. It therefore makes sense that they spend $323 million on the SuperBowl telling you what you already know so they can lose more. If you come from the AltUniverse, i guess

Love Steph, genuinely, always have, and align with her anti-corporate stances; you can definitely argue that Nintendo could absorb the heightened costs as a lossmaker, but the idea that this was exactly what Nintendo wanted to happen is a bit daft - it isn't, they want to sell the most SW2s possible

One thing that's really interesting imho is that BO seems to be allowed to run as a lossmaker and future revenue is ancillary, whereas Washington Post has to be run like a business. While SpaceX is a strict revenue generator and Twitter's revenue is irrelevant.

Hm. I understand all your points. One thing of note is "gen ai" being touted as a lossmaker is silly. It generates untold billions already, via the likes of salesforce. I genuinely do not think anyone is gearing up to "buy" ai art tho, and feel we are still a long long way off that happening.
