If I was experiencing LoU2 blind without the game, maybe I'd be more ready to experience the show. I still might, at some point.

It's not that LoU2 was bad and certainly wasn't worthy of death threats (what the fuck), it was simply too different an experience for me to vibe with it.
Films are passive, they give you more leeway to accept change. Games require your involvement, which brings preferences more into the matter.

Pfft. We still sell out of brand new copies of LoU2 on a regular basis, and while Yotei was a bit of a hard sell (because people think they need to play Tsushima first) it's picking up momentum.
