Almost done with Burning Chrome, and it's wild to me that it's Gibson's only short story connection. The weakest stories are still very strong SF in the "look at that weird mirror" vein; and the strongest are absolutely transcendent.

Yes, no objections, which is why my claim is that they develop *a* model of things, not human-like cognitive models. Still, you can do a lot with such lowrez models, obviously.

Some of the other contestants looked kinda cute too, but u can kinda tell which bot comes from which design lineage n notice patterns there across different organizations' robots even, after a while of staring ngl.
