It is critical that the Listed Places of Worship Grant Scheme is extended; churches are already at risk because local communities are unable to raise sufficient funding - without the LPWGS they will have to raise 20% more than they do now. Ain't gonna happen...

The Church of England’s Cathedral & Church Buildings team is increasingly concerned that this scheme, administered by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and funded jointly with HM Treasury, may not be extended beyond its current end date of 31 March 2025. Parishioners are deeply concerned.

Genuine question - how does the new “Places of Worship Grant Fund” compare to the old LPWGS? I notice it has a significantly higher budget, but obviously the impact will depend on what it can be used for…
