I've never seen someone who criticizes the LTV to actually have read LTV theorists (including Marx), so such confusions that are elucidated by reading the first few chapters of Das Kapital still gain traction again and again as "criticisms" of LTV.

1) Perhaps in an ancestral human environment, labor really does correlate more tightly with how good some creation is. Compare to today where a table your in-law gave you after six months work might well be much lower quality than one from Ikea.

I spent a little time organizing and fighting alongside Senator Brown in my early 20’s when they closed LTV steel in Cleveland. My dad turned me into what I am politically and I got to do some really cool shit with him back then. He worked for the USWA after they closed the mill. I like this.

That evaluation shows that you don't understand how "modern" (that is, since Marx) LTV works. Value isn't measured by how long a commodity takes to be produced. It's measured by how long it's socially necessary to produce such a commodity.
