A fun side bonus of reworking my color math is that I can leverage things like "hue shift" and "luminence step" on the fly. My player has a fully custom palette, so I need to do the actual math at runtime (on an NES), but I can, and it works quite well. Now these need mechanics! #pixelart #gamedev

If you are using a photo editing app with HSL controls (Hue / Saturation / Luminence), you can try to adjust the "blues" by lowering the luminence slider amongst other controls that might make the colour look bad but once converted into B&W could look right for the look you envision. #photography

Fun fact, this god out of all 9 is most outgoing, they love people and how silly they are. They're one of 3 oldest gods, second being Tenebris and third Zenosyne. Their formal name is God of Luminence and informal - Solene. People of Prismatica actually use phrases like "Oh Saint Solene."

I've not abandoned my Twitter account, because it still brings me gems. recently was introduced to the work of Norwegian painter Harald Sohlberg (b.1869). You can sense the still air, even hear the acoustics of his landscapes, when looking at his paintings.

Hrm... I use "Earth" as my world palette, and mechanically "Air" opposes it. So I can lock earth to one strong hue, and the rule is that Air goes on the opposing hue. Then "Ice" and "Fire" are opposed on the luminence axis instead. Better? (Example is for Protanopia) #accessibility #pixelart

I note the step down in luminence, which suggests the camera's sensor has a step in behaviour, but pleased with the captured shape as the eclipse reached about 93%.

The problem with reds and some blues is the level of over saturation in the RAW images, and you have to play with them in PS to adjust saturation and luminence.

Was that his name, Captain Cosmic? I know it was the host of Creature Features in the costume (Bob Wilkins), but don't remember the name. But I do remember that they used Luminence keying, rather than blue screen, so his black costume kept showing stars or whatever, from the screen sometimes. :-)

For hardware reasons I'm limited on the unique shapes/spots thing, as the mushrooms all share graphics tiles. For shades however, I can do is drop the floor to $0F, and include up to 6 distinct luminence levels. I'm calling this "dot matrix mode" but it helps with true monochrome as well.
