The Lynxleys get out of prison due to money and most of the sins being done by a dead guy. Pawbert isn’t gonna be kicked out or anything but his father is putting him on a very short leash, and that leash involves being his father’s good boy who he throws money at buying him gifts for being good.

TaleSpin in hindsight is essentially if the Jungle Book characters existed in the Zootopia universe.
Take one look at Shere Khan's design from that show and tell me you can't see him being in kahoots with the Lynxleys.

The Lynxleys played Monopoly once. Only once. After the fire was put out and bandages were applied it was decided by all that things were safer that way.

During the more recent animated movies, there was a lack of solid villains like before. However, this appeared to be broken in Zootopia 2 with the Lynxleys. They were manipulative and coniving, just like the classic disney villains of the past. A possible hint of Disney villains coming back. (9/10)

During the more recent animated movies, there was a lack of solid villains like before. However, this appeared to be broken in Zootopia 2 with the Lynxleys. They were manipulative and coniving, just like the classic disney villains of the past. A possible hint of Disney villains coming back. (9/10)

I suppose if Disney really wanted to be self-aware like they're so fond of these days, they could've had a scene where the Lynxleys are forced to slave away in a prison sweatshop for $1.65 an hour making balloons and confetti for the obligatory end-credits Gazelle concert.

I get that the role of the Lynxleys in Zootopia 2 gets messier if you're trying to read the story as an Israel-Palestine allegory, but I really don't think that's the case given neither group is set up as indigenous to Zootopia? It's really more a redlining/gentrification allegory.

I think that's what I like best about The Shining reference — it fully fit the Lynxleys and Pawbert in that moment and added more character depth even without knowing the source material.

Another weird thing is how the lynxes are both supposed to be this whole rich family but also... The species? So Judy says that's what the lynxes do, or at least the lynxleys? And then Pawbert is presented as a counterpoint to that. Except at the end he's evil too.
