Samsung Galaxy M67 Allegedly to Use Four-Year-Old Exynos 2200 Chip
A recent Geekbench listing has revealed that Samsung's upcoming Galaxy M67, a budget smartphone, may be using the Exynos 2200 chipset, which was first introduced in the Galaxy S22 series in 2022. The device, identified by the model number SM-M676K, reportedly features 8GB of RAM, runs Android 17, and has benchmark scores of 1,589 single-core and 3,923 multi-core, though alternative reports show slightly lower figures. The leak has sparked discussion about Samsung's strategy of reusing older chipsets in newer devices, particularly as the Exynos 2200 is now four years old and lacks modern AI processing capabilities found in newer mid-range chips from competitors like MediaTek and Qualcomm. Samsung has not officially confirmed the Galaxy M67's existence, specifications, or launch date, with all information coming from third-party benchmark data and outlet analysis. The M-series has historically used a mix of Snapdragon and Exynos chips, with Samsung opting for cost-effective solutions by reusing fully amortized silicon from previous flagship models. This approach aligns with Samsung's broader semiconductor strategy, where older chips are repurposed for budget devices to reduce costs, especially as component prices rise. The leak has generated significant attention due to the chip's age and the current market's focus on AI-enhanced processors, though Samsung has not yet commented on the matter. Industry observers expect Samsung to emphasize price positioning and other features like battery size and display quality in marketing rather than the processor's age. The Galaxy M67's specifications remain unconfirmed, with no official pricing or release date announced as of yet.

Human remains identified as missing Lancashire man Ajani Campbell
Human remains discovered near the M67 motorway in Greater Manchester have been formally identified as those of Ajani Campbell, a 41-year-old man from Preston who was reported missing in January 2026. Mr Campbell disappeared after leaving his home on 24 January and was subsequently treated as a high-risk missing person. Bridge inspectors discovered his skeletal remains on 3 August at the bottom of a concrete embankment beneath a railway bridge over the M67 in Hyde, Tameside. At the time, police said there were no personal belongings or other items at the scene that could help establish the identity of the deceased. A forensic post-mortem examination was carried out, and DNA extracted from a bone was used to confirm Mr Campbell's identity. Greater Manchester Police said the identification had provided some answers for his family, but that the investigation into the circumstances of his death remains ongoing. Before his disappearance, Mr Campbell boarded a train in Preston and was captured on CCTV at Manchester Piccadilly Station at approximately 12.30am on 25 January. He was later tracked into Manchester city centre and was last seen on CCTV at 1.48am on Deansgate, near the junction with Quay Street. Police are continuing to establish a timeline of his movements and determine how he came to be beneath the bridge in Hyde. Mr Campbell's family described him as funny, caring and loving, and said he had a passion for fitness, the outdoors and music, including rap. They expressed their gratitude to everyone who had helped with the search and supported them. Greater Manchester Police said it was working with Lancashire Constabulary and that it was not ruling out any lines of enquiry concerning the circumstances of his death. An online portal has also been established for members of the public to provide information to investigators.
