Kalyan: Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) cut the water supply to Kalyan station for 22 hours, beginning Saturday evening, after giving notice over a pending water bill of Rs 4.4 crore, leaving passengers, staffers at the station and the railway hospital, as well GRP and RPF personnel in a lurch. The water supply was later restored following a request by Central Railway (CR).Central Railway Majdoor Sangh (CRMS) and others slammed KDMC's action just ahead of Gudi Padwa, when the station sees a higher footfall, calling it unjustified and inhumane. Anil Dubey, general secretary of CRMS, said, "Passengers and staff working at the railway station faced a lot of inconvenience due to lack of water."
