Jenny Farkas couldn’t wait any longer for a place where people of all backgrounds could come together to share tools, learn trades and make products to sell. She decided she “had to show, not tell” people that the model works. Enter MakeSpace North Park.

The new sign-ups employ 1,298 people in total. Other names include Kelpie Coffee, Oxford North, Damascus Rose Kitchen, Oxford Biomedica, Cyclox, and Makespace Oxford. In all, 193 employers have signed up for the scheme. www.oxford.gov.uk/living-wage
