Enjoy a not-fountain pen(manship) post!
We couldn't let World Handwriting Day go by without sharing Kathleen Lonsdale's penmanship ✍️

Lonsdale conducted pioneering research in X-ray crystallography and worked at the Ri. In 1929, she proved that the structure of benzene was flat—the chemical was also discovered here, by Michael Faraday.

Hey, I'll deliver my "Last Lecture" at LSU on Wednesday (tomorrow) at 4:30. They tell me it will be a full house, but there's still plenty of room on the Manship School's YouTube channel. Tune in if you can. I'll post a link afterward, too.

That's the odd part, they're not trying to impress women anymore, they're trying to impress other guys with this weird oneup-manship game of Machismo Name That Tune.

I'm thinking about my grandmother's maiden name Manship, and how my family has for generations told its story. Apparently a man named John Smith stowed away on a ship to Maine in the very early days of the colony. He faked his name when he came to the New World: Manship. Undocumented.

He literally had a job in the Manship School of Mass Communication, which had several leading scholars publishing research and public-facing pieces about this very topic.
"Carville: I’m pretty limited to the media consumption survey. I’m pretty limited right now to how people get their news, which I don’t know…"

Thousands upon thousands of studies about this. The fact that someone in Carville's position thinks he has to reinvent the wheel isn't great.
News --> James Carville is commissioning pollsters to do a deep dive on how people get their news, in hopes that Dems will overhaul how they communicate with voters, particularly working class ones.

It's a good idea. Carville explains it on our podcast:
