Marketpliers is real and he's overpricing everything in his store. You better buy something, especially the oil 🫵👁️👁️🛒✨

a fantastic debut from marketpliers!! the slow burn really makes you Sit with the paranoia of the convict
i do think the pacing could be a lil better & the audio mixing was a bit muggy at the end. but that was on the theaters side. still so great tho!!

![[spoiler free]
i walked into this film with high hopes, but tried to proceed with caution. i love markiplier to death, but i was curious on how his skill would translate to a movie like this.
needless to say, he blew my expectations outta the (blood) water!!! it didnt feel like "youtuber acting" to me and i was surprised by the visuals, ESPECIALLY the CGI.
obviously, it does have an "indie movie" feel, but it didnt subtract anything at all. it was extremely well shot, especially for a single-location film. you can definitely feel the convicts descent into madness and paranoia through the shots & soundtrack.
which, btw, the soundtrack was AMAZING. i had already listened to it before watching this movie and it is a rollercoaster in of itself. it added so much to the movie for me
now, it forsure wasnt perfect. i wasnt expecting it to be. the pacing dragged on a bit in some scenes. like he was just doing stuff to drag the runtime a bit longer. however, i do recognize that theres only SO MUCH you can do as 1 man in a submarine for 2 hours. so i get it.
the lore was a bit muggy as well, but to keep it vauge, i think its intentional. it also doesnt help that my theaters audio mixing wasnt great so i couldnt hear some dialogue.
i do feel that the movie rewards you greatly for sitting thru the slow burn. there are some things that i never expected to happen that had my JAW DROP. the ending is FREAKIN CRAYZEEE
anyways. overall, a great movie. im so incredibly proud of mark & the crew for all their hard work. they absolutely killed it.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:pz5zay73rmysjafixswws5dh/bafkreial5fqqldbb2fdoq5cm56ulo572bloqa3wsth5lj3tf3qwie6oy64)
