The rescission does not necessarily mean the now unapproved masks are bad, but they no longer qualify as OSHA compliant for workplace use.

Haven’t been able to afford anything from them recently but may again soon though now will definitely not be going back to @blickartmaterials.bsky.social again so long as this is their policy.

Love 'em or hate 'em, there is a great new write up on the hows and whys of bi-fold respirators, the shape most people associate with KN95s by Vasilisnp2.

If you are wearing high-quality legit respirators that fit you well, you can absolutely reuse them.

Good advice here:

Since Covid levels are going up (in lots of places), a reminder that the fit of your mask/respirator matters.

Here are some mask fit testing instructions

every time i go to the masks4all reddit to get information about something i end up leaving having learned nothing new and with immense and pervasive guilt that i am not perfect at masking and don't wear the best masks so now i am really deep in the "i'm a very bad person" dwelling place

Someone on Reddit posted a summary of the most breathable masks @masknerd has tested, based on the masknerd database.

They also posted a summary of the most breathable masks tested by ArmbrustUSA on their TSI testing machine.

😷 Thinking of going back to masking? In Canada there's @donatemask.bsky.social. Buy from their shop if you can, it funds the mask donations! They also have a sampler pack to let you try different ones. In the U.S. search for local mask blocs. For general mask info
r/Masks4All is a good resource.
I know we can't personal responsibility our way out of the US gov destroying our vital health departments. But wearing a high-quality mask (N95, KN95, etc) in public spaces is still the easiest best way you can protect yourself and community. If you quit masking, now is a good time to start again!

If you're suggesting a full-face respirator over half on the basis of efficacy, buying a $30 no-name Amazon one kind of defeats the purpose. That isn't NIOSH-approved (RIP NIOSH)

Donate A Mask is run by volunteers. Our Request Program is powered by donations from people like you.

We raised over $2300 during the matching fundraising campaign. That money will go toward sending masks to people who need them.

A NIOSH P100 respirator filters tiny PM 0.3 particles at 99.97% or better at 85lpm of airflow (total filtration efficiency in mask will be lower due to imperfect face seal).

Use a well fitted certified respirator for welding fumes, not un-certified nostril filters.

Psst… find well-priced 3M Auras at our charity store: a box of 50 3M Aura 1870+ respirators for $24.99 or a case of 440 for $99.88! 😷

At these prices, you can afford to protect yourself and your community. 💙

R/ABraThatFits, r/ADHD, r/cfs, r/childfree (for sterilisation doctors), r/CPTSD, r/Masks4All, r/Menopause, r/Perimenopause, r/ptsd, r/ZeroCovidCommunity all have lots of good information in each of their About sections.

I'm sure there are more, too.
I don't use Reddit a lot, but I think people unfairly dismiss it when there are some very good resources on there, especially for some health conditions.
