LOUDER FOR THOSE IN THE BACK 🙌🏻

So many schools are struggling with attendance, yet they don't seem to add things together to realize the ways to prevent more absences. Supporting kids with chronic illness and preventing more kids (and staff) from getting sick would help so much!
“Every staff member who interacts with children can help identify those who might need support for long COVID… Educators might be the first ones to notice changes in a student”

My wish for this school year is simple but powerful: that every student and staff member feels safe, supported, connected, and inspired to grow and learn together.

When a student is on the verge of turning from Bruce Banner into the Hulk, they don’t need a lecture—they need calm, quiet, and a little time to come back down.

Remember, children don’t wake up in the morning with the intention of ruining your day. Their actions are often a reflection of their inner struggles, unmet needs, or past traumas.

‪Some student behaviors look like ADHD, lack of motivation or defiance. Sometimes these behaviors are due to hunger, lack of sleep or fear. Let’s first prescribe a snack, nap or hug. This may be exactly what they need to succeed!‬

Maslow Before Bloom applies to the adults too! We have feelings, we get tired, we get stressed, we get overwhelmed & sometimes beaten down. We have to take care of the adults so they can take care of the students. We have to make self-care & wellness a priority every day!

Stop calling décor ‘rigor.’ A themed bulletin board can be delightful—it’s not a substitute for trust, time on task, and meaningful practice. #ClassroomCulture #MaslowBeforeBloom #InstructionalTime #TeacherSupport #BackToSchool

Yay! Searched for you, Bryan.
You have such an important message, so desperately needed.
Time for MH community to get out there & model/educate public about what healthy, life-affirming behavior looks like.
Grateful you are here!

You’ve given enough. You've spent enough of your time, your money, and your stress.
Now it’s time to build a career that gives back.

Professional standards must cut both ways. You can’t wave through leadership credentials while micromanaging pacing guides. That erodes trust—the ultimate school resource. #EduLeadership #AdminAccountability #TeacherWellbeing #MaslowBeforeBloom #PublicEducation

This isn’t a resilience problem. It’s a systems problem: shifting goalposts, extra duties, fewer supports. Fix inputs (time, staffing, respect) and watch outcomes rise. #TeacherBurnout #TeacherWellbeing #EducationReform #MaslowBeforeBloom #TeacherSupport

Let policy carry the policy. Celebrate calmer lunches and better focus—but staff for it. Admin handles enforcement. Parents back staff up. Teachers teach. #CellPhoneBan #TeachDontPolice #SupportTeachers #ClassroomCulture #MaslowBeforeBloom

STATE TAKEOVER 101: Centralize power, praise ‘gains,’ ignore classroom grind. If the goal is better learning, start with better working conditions. Teachers are the system. Work with them, not against them. #HISD #TXEd #EduLeadership #MaslowBeforeBloom #TeacherBurnout

Before reacting, ask: Have they eaten? Slept? Are they safe?
Christina shares why choosing curiosity over judgment can change how we connect with students.

Once you truly see a student—not for their behavior, but for their story—you’ll never see them the same way again.
