It's World Cancer Day and 10 years ago this year I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I can't believe it was a decade ago
This is me in hospital waiting to have a mastectomy. I'm smiling but god I was so anxious, so worried I wouldn't wake up from the anaesthetic

I suppose this is the test. I was dxed with breastcancer 26 yr ago. I am a Flat Closure advocate. I’ve posted for abt 5 yrs on on other apps. Will BlueSky support the breast cancer community when we work on normalizing all post mastectomy bodies?

My sister made it through a double mastectomy this week with flying colors. Hopefully she’ll be cancer free, but for right now, she’s doing fantastic.

Reason #1023 why doctors hate health insurance companies: Insurance refused to pay for a breast prosthesis for a mastectomy patient (no reconstruction) and made me justify it medically by symptoms—as if simply the absence of a breast isn’t reason enough.
