i really think hotel matcharoll is intended to show their dynamic at its core...stripped off the narrative of cookie research < perhaps my delusion, lol, but i think of BRoll's desire to interfere with matcha's isolation/ostracisation in hotel (by trying to ensure matcha does a satisfactory job)

rather than my describing the hotel story as the 'core' of matcharoll, stripped of the canon narrative (since that implies the canon narrative itself doesn't itself constitute their dynamic, which isn't true), it serves as a parallel image. it reflects the same faults, but also the same intention

pairing butter roll with other characters....i can see why others do it, I just don't get the appeal. i'm glad i don't, because if I did, the ship would feel 100% cucked and NTR'd by matcha 🫢🏃♂️matcha's influence on BRoll's narrative would destroy it. good thing i'm a matcharoll shipper 😋🤭

i think some of my favourite matcharoll depictions are those which employ imagery of them being a singular entity. it's just so beautiful to me. i like the literal depiction of their enmeshment, there's a slightly dark undertone to it which i really like
