Matrix is a new journal in the humanities and social sciences, founded to provide an interdisciplinary forum for those who are working from the theoretical stance of matriculture as a Geertzian cultural system.

MATRICULTURE, curated by Liz Ensz at Tephra ICA, features work by Devin Harclerode and Nadia Nazar that explores care, kinship, and diasporic memory through textile-based forms. Harclerode’s ethereal, hand-dyed silk curtains and Nazar’s sculptural steel braids create a moving dialogue on the labor, vulnerability, and complexity of nurturing connections across time, space, and identity.
