You’re totally right. Someone else linked to the Microsoft page explaining that the WIN32 API has a MAX_PATH_LENGTH of ~256 chars. Which was ironically removed in a Windows 10 update but only if you make a registry edit.

Welcome to 2024, everyone! 🤡 Tbf this is Windows 10, but the "Enable Win32 long paths" is switched on. I suppose file history does not support that. #windows #max_path_length
