The YPT didn’t start out as a mayfly, but the offset cdc wings really help imitate the movements of a struggling insect on the water making it a perfect choice.

Quite often if a pattern is tried out, and it works/catches straight away, I’ll let the person who tested it name the fly. So… we have the BKM, Bruce’s Killer Mayfly, named after Bruce… who is a cat.
