Went to Lowes and and picked up 12 bags of compost to start our stockpile. Stopped by a local nursery for seeds and picked up a bareroot Western Mayhaw.
Got the first seeds of the year started(artichoke!) and potted the bareroot until I decide on its forever home.
I think I've done enough today.

I’d do a box with:
These Chinese Haws candy (Crataegus pinnatifida)
Mayhaw jelly (C aestivalis )
Euro hawthorn/whitethorn leaf and flower (C monogyna)
And discuss C douglasii and plant hunting

I've actually never encountered hummingbird cake in *any* capacity outside of Georgia—and only a couple of times inside of Georgia. Nobody has ever heard of it, just like nobody has heard of mayhaw jelly. But, also like mayhaw jelly, it is a wonderful gastronomic treat to have in one's pocket.
