MAM really did use the cheapest components is was possible to buy in the 90s. Which explains how the MB33 and Freebass racks sold for £99 in 1996.
I think they call this contact oxidisation... erm...
I'm not sure what metal that supposedly is, but I don't think I've ever seen it that bad before! 🤔

MAM really did use the cheapest components is was possible to buy in the 90s. Which explains how the MB33 and Freebass racks sold for £99 in 1996.
I think they call this contact oxidisation... erm...

That box is quite literally smaller than the MB33 in it! The knobs actually stick out of the top of the box, and unsurprisingly were mostly very wobbly by the time it got here from Spain.

Two MAM MB33 Retros. Both brand new and unused. The one on the left worked perfectly, but the one on the right had all kinds of problems with tuning and interference.
Theres one difference, and bizarrely it clearly came out of the factory like that.

Around 4 years ago we spent £2000 buying the last 20 new MAM MB33's from DV247 at £100 each. We then modded them and sold them for around £250 each.
Given they're apparently now 'vintage' and routinely sell for £300+ unmodded we would of done better to have just stuck them in a cupboard for 4 years!
