Could you imagine if our bills were itemized like this? My father used to know to the penny how much those lazy librarians were making - for some reason he had always had it in for the librarians despite loving to read. Exact amounts for MCPS, MCPL, Fire Department... by household

Nero got annoyed yesterday because the shell mcpl will keep getting wedged all the time.
It'd be cool to give her a new home

Baltimore City: Enoch Pratt doesn't get Hoopla anymore but Montgomery County does and if you live in Baltimore you can get a MCPL card!
I just rediscovered Kanopy and Hoopla and they are extremely good, way better than I remember. Highly recommend, especially since I have discovered you can stack your cards with everything and it's so rad, no creepy surveillance, no weird genAI mascots, no fucking ads, political or otherwise

...it doesn't rely on discord???
kira is running on connectome and has no discord connection
yes one or two error messages were weirdly about discord specifically, but otherwise the channel paradigm is generic to literally any MCPL connector you have, not just discord

also their MCPL paradigm is really really good, stuff like signal/discord/email/calendars/etc should live outside the harness core and just be a separate MCPL server that can be connected to the harness in a modular way

it took me under 15 minutes to setup io and that was including writing a matrix MCPL server tbh sooo

and it gives you an ability to add functionality to the harness in the form of new MCPL servers without actually needing to patch harness code itself and therefore reducing the maintenance burden even more

i.e. editing a discord-mcpl repo checkout is better in terms of long-term maintenance because it makes your life way easier when merging in upstream changes
it also provides a stable API so it's less likely that an upstream harness change breaks your patches etc

do try it, at the very least for comparison! it's extremely easy to get started with and, because of their MCPL stuff, very easy for the resident agent to extend. just playing around with a solid persona agent harness for a few days was more illuminating than months of building hornroot from scratch
