Even if the MDCD and PCE versions were exactly the same game, it still wouldn’t be a case of simply taking the English script and building the PCE version with it.
Knowing M2, I imagine localisation was considered, but dropped due to budget/time constraints.

So glad you mentioned Pyramid Patrol. Gotta give the LaserActive some love. It always gets overshadowed, yet it was an excellent machine that could play laserdiscs, PC-Engine/CD or MegaDrive/MDCD if you have the modules. But it's best to get one that has been refurbished, they're quite temperamental
