Seeing parent posts in my 2 kids’ uni FB groups saying their kids are already sick. I posted a PSA in both explaining airborne viruses, #IAQ, avail #Airborne virus mitigation tools, some deets re Covid, and links.

The only pushback (‘twas respectful) is from an #Ontario #Nurse. We have failed them.
Screenshot of response to FB post: “I am a bigger supporter of fresh air and air purification, but having worked in healthcare through pandemic and managed COVID units, a few of the items are misleading above. Most respiratory illnesses are droplet/contact, not airborne. This means they may be expelled by someone’s nose/mouth but droplets fall onto surfaces. Hand washing and general cleaning are most important. N95 masks are not required. If you are sick or a high risk, a surgical mask is enough. We follow public health, CDC and WHO recommendations. Rapid tests (due to user error) and even PCRs are no longer recommended. Back to basics, if you are sick, stay home. Wash hands often, sneeze/cough in your arm and clean regularly. Air purification and fresh air are always a positive.”

Covid may predispose patients to TB through depletion of T-cells and uncontrolled production of pro-inflammatory cytokines. Pretending Covid is "over" while people are being reinfected is a dangerous game given the immune system, neurological &cardiologic damage. #tboutbreak #measlestoo #maskup
