Douglas Barrowman and Michelle Mone's company, PPE Medpro, has just been ordered to refund the Government £122m from a PPE contract.

There are two very odd things about PPE Medpro that may affect the odds of the Government ever getting that £122m...

Baroness Michelle Mone has renewed her Leave of Absence in the Lords.

She's been on leave since December 2022 over the PPE Medpro scandal.

PPE Medpro was ordered by the High Court to repay £122m. Mone has said she has "no wish to return" as a Tory peer. Not clear why she doesn't just resign, then.

Michelle Mone-linked PPE Medpro wound up after order to repay £148m for faulty goods.

Company has £600,000 assets. Govt is unsecured creditor, won't recover anything.

Hard to trace money in offshore bank accounts.

Govt could sue directors for fraud, will take years, what will it recover?

So Baroness Mone didn’t just connect PPE Medpro to the government’s VIP lane. She took an active role lobbying for the company:

Why the government was right to take PPE Medpro to court

The state should enforce its contractual rights against suppliers more often

But there's no sign of any of that in PPE Medpro (UK)'s accounts:

The second PPE Medpro mystery is: where is the money?

The Guardian reported (and Barrowman does not seem to contest) that PPE Medpro made a £65m profit from its sale of £202m of PPE to the Government:

Mone and Barrowman lied. They told an enormous fib - that they didn't own PPE Medpro - and then sent lawyers to threaten journalists who were exposing the fib.

I've no idea why they think anyone will believe this new statement.

Last year, Govt won a £122m judgment against Douglas Barrowman and Michelle Mone's company PPE Medpro, for supplying defective PPE

The company had been emptied of cash and collapsed

Now its liquidators are suing Barrowman, Mone and associated companies personally

💰 PPE Medpro must repay £122m for supplying defective PPE

⚖️ But it doesn’t stop with Baroness Mone. When will the ministers who referred their cronies onto the VIP Lane face consequences?

Huge win.

Suck it up Michelle Mone

Strip her from the Lords

The question is: is that what he did here? Did the Government sign a contract with PPE Medpro UK, when the cash actually went tax-free to PPE Medpro in the Isle of Man?

If not, what was the purpose of two identically named companies?

A spirited government would now buy the Medpro company so it could sue its former directors.

*evil grin*

This ruling is a joke.

PPE Medpro will go bankrupt and the Government won't get a penny.

Michelle Mone should have to pay the £122m personally.

RT if you want to see her pay it all back.

This is the judgment on the PPE/Medpro claim.

A cracking £122m win for the Government Legal Service

And is wonderful to see the government bringing a claim in contract against a shoddy supplier.

This does not happen often, and it should happen far more.

Michelle Mone's company PPE Medpro has been wound up without repaying the £122m it owes for ripping off the NHS. But luckily, she gets to keep the private jet and the superyacht.
