#mega-corporations
Thursday morning we’ll hear testimony about the Fair Share Tax, which would reduce small businesses’ tax burden by making sure large corporations with inflated CEO compensation pay their fair share. Learn more and sign up to testify below.

I voted no on both these budgets because they are were fiscally irresponsible:

The short term salve of service rollbacks ends up costing us more in the long run. But you wouldn’t know that from listening to the “Challenge Seattle” neoliberals lobbying Olympia for lower taxes on mega corporations.

The mainstream media here is now almost entirely owned by right wing billionaires and mega-corporations. Local independent media is getting rarer. Americans are not consuming the news equivalent of fast food anymore, we’re consuming the equivalent of garbage.

Fortunately, our wallets don’t lie.

When we allow mega corporations to create jobs that don’t pay people a living wage, we subsidize their poor treatment of their own workers through public benefits. We fund programs like SNAP because there’s some asshole running a corporation paying their employees so badly they can’t buy groceries.

Warner Bros. and Paramount are now Skydance – What the merger means for you
Say goodbye to decades of Hollywood history and hello to the era of mega media corporations. Paramount Skydance officially closed its belabored bid to buy Warner Bros.

Right. They believe they will one day be billionaires, and the actual small businesses view themselves aligned with mega corporations but their needs are diametrically opposed.

Time to shut this bullshot down! Time to again bust the monopolies and mega corporations.

How in the hell can anyone honestly believe that large corporations do ANYTHING to the benefit of the people!

They are profit machines only and must be treated accordingly.

It’s not just dangerous it’s downright deadly that Trump gov’s defunding cancer research (Trump-GOP want privatization of med research since they personally profit financially from mega-wealthy corporations) Meanwhile for generations private & gov funded research benefit each other & all of us.

The proposals that materially help small businesses while holding mega corporations accountable are from the democratic socialists.

Please look past the Red Scare propaganda to assess who is doing material work for the community.

Someone schmoozing you is not the same as someone serving you.

4. Grassroots support wins races.
Mega corporations and dark-money PACs can spend unlimited resources to try to buy critical offices. We are fueled by supporters like you, Andrew, because Martin works for you.

We're used to hearing how Gen AI is theft of human works when it comes to creative work. What happens when those same systems can eliminate scarcity for software and coercive software suites utilized by mega corporations to screw over consumers?

At its core, our proposal is a tax on inequality, which is a scourge to us all - rich and poor. Inequality in income and wealth is a drag on our economy. We can and should tax the very corporations that cause it and use those proceeds to level the playing field and fund our services.

Our Fair Share Tax proposal is coming to Committee of the Whole this Thursday morning at 9:30. If you think it’s a good idea to cut taxes for small businesses, raise taxes on large mega corporations, while raising more money to fund critical services then we need to hear from you.

Tell Your Lawmakers to Support the Abolish Super PACs Act (H.R. 2352)
Super PACs are destroying what’s left of American democracy. For over a decade, these billionaire-funded mega-PACs have served as legal loopholes, allowing corporations and the ultra-wealthy to pump ...

Tax data centers and tax billionaires and mega corporations! That’s how we take care of people over profits!

As I said elsewhere, my days of being disappointed by mega-corporations are certainly coming to a middle.

For the life of me I will NEVER understand why the average working person (or union member) supports Republicans. It's been many decades since the GOP did anything for anyone but the wealthy or mega-corporations. And they've been hypocritical on the whole "Faith&Family" platform forever.
October 5, 2026 at 8:24 PM
No, the best we can do is hold these mega corporations accountable, especially as they now appear to be running our government while brainwashing people into accepting and believing this using our tax dollars to run propaganda ads.
October 5, 2026 at 7:34 PM
Also a reminder that if we had sane IP laws (not 95 years or life of author plus 70 years) we would've had a much larger corpus for training AI on, and individual creators would've seen almost no difference - only mega powerful corporations would've noticed.
October 5, 2026 at 5:42 PM
Wow, interesting point of data.

I wonder how much in negative health and unproductivity this causes. Just more misery for the bottom line of mega corporations.

It cannot be our state’s policy to empower mega-corporations to bully working families, and this bill will provide a clearly needed layer of protection for the working families who power our state.

What!? I had no idea about this. You would think they might let the people who have already paid for a service until mid-2027 *know* that they're killing it. My days of being disappointed by mega-corporations are certainly coming to a middle.
