Don't forget the plan to turn every source of potable water into liquid cooling for said megascale datacenters. Might need to cut down all the trees for biofuel plants when the fossil fuels runs out, too.

One pushback: it feels like a overreading that consumer AI will vanish post crash - what will swap in are on device, open source/weight models. This is already happening.
What will die is any form of megascale training, and, as you say, the hype driving uncritical adoption.

Inverse folding models fine-tuned on ddG data are SOTA on stability/thermostability prediction, & can be further improved by including features from PLMs; additionally, these help identify conserved AAs whose functional importance isn't obvious from structure alone www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
